Powdered Doughnut Holes

Trader Joe discontinued some like these so I decided to make my own, I tried to find a healthier recipe so these are baked NOT friiiied.

Ingredients ( in order of appearance)

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 5 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted

This makes about 40 of my pan

Next time:

  • Half the recipe to make 20
  • Next time:
    • Add Vanilla extract
    • Try 1 Tbsp baking powder, teeth feel a bit dry probably due to powder

Preparation

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the milk and the egg
  2. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
  3. Stir the milk-egg mixture into the dry ingredients
  4. Stir in the melted butter and mixing until a soft dough forms

Baking

  1. Heat oven to 425OF, spray pan with non-stick oil
  2. Bake 6-7min, or until tops of doughnut holes spring back when lightly touched
  3. Cool in pan 5 min
  4. Finish holes with fancy powdered sugar
