90% of what I do is on my laptop, and it’s been going strong after 5 years, but unfortunately the battery life has greatly declined until the laptop eventually told me to replace it. it still held a 3hr charge, but I was nothing compared tot he 7-8 it used to hold so I decided to replace the battery and hopefully get another 5 years out of it ๐
The video below was crucial to me being able to replace the battery. I’d suggest taking a look at it first. The repair overall took me about 1hr, removing the old battery and removing the adhesive was about 20 min ordeal, building up the courage to take it apart and do it was about 2o min ๐ , and testing, installing and closing was another 20 min. Take a look at the images for the setup I had.
Tips:
- Useย 4 string thick floss tool, –> Worked extremely well, make sure you add handles as you will need to use some force
- Make a not of where all the screws go, as there are various sizes for them.
- Be careful not to put pressure on other components, resistors etc. also be careful with the trackpad connectors (center middle) as it may be tempting to put pressure on them, or put your palm there as you are pulling the strings over the batteries.
- Go slow, take your time ๐
